چکیده

Modern telecommunications systems are becoming increasingly complex, both in their internal construction and the degree of interconnectivity and interdependence between systems. This situation is exacerbated by regulatory demands for operator interworking and requirements for high quality delivery to the users. In this context, the crucial issue is that of the ability of systems to retain their operational state of high integrity. The number of integrity issues in such systems is vast, and these issues must be understood and managed throughout: development, testing, interconnection and maintenance. This paper presents a framework for analysing the integrity features of telecommunications systems, and elaborates on integrity-preserving policies that can be applied during system development and deployment. Moreover, a brief description of a case study based on ACTS project TRUMPET (DGXIIIB, AC112) is given.

XML Integration and Toolkit for B2B Applications

This paper presents a Web-based data integration methodology and tool framework, called X-TIME, for the development of business-to-business (B2B) design environments and applications. X-TIME provides a data model translator toolkit based on an extensible metamodel and XML. It allows the creation of adaptable semantics oriented metamodels to facilitate the design of wrappers or reconciliators (m...

Developing Interoperable Collaboration Services to Sustain Activities of Communities of Practice

Communities of Practice (CoPs) have attracted the interest of professionals and researchers as successful environments for enhancing, developing and improving practices through collaboration between their members. More and more, CoPs are choosing virtual environments and services to support their activities. However, recent research has underlined the lack of adequate scaffolding in terms of te...

Connectivity as a Measure of Power System Integrity

Measures of network structural integrity useful in the analysis and synthesis of power systems are discussed. Signal flow methodology is applied to derive an expression for the paths between sources and sinks in a power network. Connectivity and reach ability properties of the network are obtained using the minors of a modified connectivity matrix. Node-connectivity, branch connectivity and mix...

Context-aware Modeling for Spatio-temporal Data Transmitted from a Wireless Body Sensor Network

Context-aware systems must be interoperable and work across different platforms at any time and in any place. Context data collected from wireless body area networks (WBAN) may be heterogeneous and imperfect, which makes their design and implementation difficult. In this research, we introduce a model which takes the dynamic nature of a context-aware system into consideration. This model is con...

Synergetic Tool Environments

In the field of parallel programming we notice a considerable lack of efficient on-line tools for debugging, performance analysis etc. This is due to the fact that the construction of those tools must be based on a complicated software infrastructure. In the case of such software being available tools from different vendors are almost always incompatible as they use proprietary implementations ...
